The Lake, Habitat & Fishery Committee has suggested to all fisherman for the 2016 calendar year to only keep the crappies that are 10 to 12 inches in length.

This would enable those fish to spawn in early spring and hold the eggs in the fall to again spawn in the spring of next year.

Through our investigation by the members of the Fishing Club and the L, H & Fishery Committee, using the creel survey, described in the Beaver Lake News /Winter 2016 edition, page 11, under crappie news, we recommend putting back larger than 12 inch fish and keep only what is needed. Please refer to our new fishing signs for information.

Please note: this is on a voluntary basis to improve the crappie population.
